‘Fireglow’

Fireglow is an upright spreading red leaf Japanese maple that holds its red color in the heat. Slow growing to 10 to 12 feet with an equal spread and a graceful habit. Brilliant scarlet in the fall. Needs protection from more than 2 hours of hot afternoon sun and also does well in shade. Likes consistent summer moisture and good drainage. An outstanding cultivar.

A mature ‘Fireglow’ specimen.

The pinks and reds of spring deepen to bronze-purple in summer. ‘Fireglow’ does a great job holding that purple color through the heat of summer.

‘Fireglow’ can be a stunner in springtime, especially when the leaves are backlit by the sun.

Fall color is a an incredible bright red — usually peaking in mid December in DFW.
