‘Mikawa yatsubusa’

This upright dwarf Japanese maple maturing at 5 feet. Exceptionally slow growing. Leaves are very close together along the curving branches. Brilliant scarlet and yellow in the fall. Can handle some hot afternoon sun. Likes consistent moisture but not too wet. N.A. Maple Society's "Maple of the Year" in 2015

Spring growth on ‘Mikawa yatsubusa’ is a vibrant light green.

The leaves darken into summer, and are densely packed on this remarkably slow-growing (2 in. per year) cultivar.
