‘Nuresagi’
An upright red leaf Japanese maple maturing at 14 feet tall but only 8 feet wide. This old variety is hardier and holds color well, and is suitable for smaller spaces. Brilliant glowing red in the fall. Likes consistent moisture but not too wet. One of the best red upright Japanese maples.
Spring growth on Nuresagi is a deep magenta-red.
Fall color is a terrific bright red, especially when backlit by the morning sun.
The summer color is a deep purple. ‘Nuresagi’ is more narrow than many other red-leafed cultivars, reaching 14’ by 7’ at maturity.
